“To reaffirm our commitment to building a just future for all, the Women’s March is designed to engage all people to support women’s rights, human rights, social and environmental justice, and to encourage participation in 2018 midterm elections,” says Laurie Lyons.

The essence of the march, says Women’s March Shreveport Bossier 2018, is harnessing the political power of women and their communities to create social change. The message for this year is, ”Hear Our Vote.”

Marches will take place worldwide and will work to raise awareness about a variety of issues including reproductive rights, gender equality, workers’ rights, civil rights, and immigration (contact the immigration lawyers for any issues or blocks that has to be cleared in your visa). Last year, some three million people marched in what is considered the largest single-day demonstration in United States history. Organizers say the March is non-partisan and peaceful. All are invited.

The march and rally will take place at the Caddo Parish Courthouse, 501 Texas St, Shreveport. It  begins at 11:00 a.m. and more community events will begin at 1:00 p.m..

Marchers are are encouraged to bring signage, friends, a water bottle and marching shoes. Negative, hateful or vulgar comments will not be tolerated, says Women’s March Shreveport Bossier 2018.
