If you’re a young voter in Shreveport, you probably know that the mayoral election that was supposed to end on November 4th has been extended to a runoff election as no candidate reached the necessary 50% to win outright.
The top two candidates, Ollie Tyler and Victoria Provenza, will fight for your vote December 6th, but first, the Shreveport Times wants you to voice your concerns, and pose your questions at a followup SBC Unfiltered event, much like the last one they put on, in the first week of December.
This is not a debate. Questions will come directly from SBC Unfiltered: The Challenge signatories and presented directly to the mayoral contenders. Candidates’ answers will be left unfiltered, though moderated for time. -The Shreveport Times
But, before they can set it up, they want your commitment. Specifically your commitment to attend. They need 200 digital signatures from people ages 18-35 by November 19th in order to make the call to the candidates.
If, like many people, you have unanswered questions for the candidates and want the answers in the public record, this will likely be your last chance before the runoff. To sign the petition, visit the Shreveport Times site here.
