All the Disney fans and dreamers in the SBC get ready for a tale as old as time! Shreveport Opera is presenting Disney’s Beauty and the Beast for their upcoming spring musical (tickets).

Do not miss a chance to see the magical world come to life on April 20th and 21st at 7:30 p.m. at the downtown Riverview Theatre. This is the first time the opera will be offering two performances for a production.

Shreveport’s own Nate Wasson returns to direct this musical. Wasson’s directorial debut was Shreveport Opera’s successful production of Fiddler on the Roof last year. During rehearsals, Wasson mentions he is “nothing but enthusiastic about this whole production…everyone is giving their all….I can’t wait for the audience to step into this enchanted world we are creating!”

Angela Rosenkrans from Arizona is adding her flair as choreographer. This will be her debut at Shreveport Opera and states it has been memorable in teaching the cast some new tricks. She is dedicated to making this the most memorizing production for old fans and new. Rosenkrans remarks on how this story resonates because “it strikes a chord of memory with love, loss, forgiveness, victory….it’s a great way to be inspired and appreciate some time in a magical world.”
