Or, if you can’t think up anything, here are a couple events going on at your favorite local coffee shop this May that are available free and for all ages:

ABRAM SHOOK May 24 (Sunday)Landscape-Dream-Cover-Image-620x620
Abram Shook
is all about feeling. They have an atmosphere, a power, that very few others have. From the moody start of lead off track “Never Die” with its ethereal beginnings to its psychedelically pounding chorus – to the ending of “Jaw” with church-like synth sounds, the album never leaves behind the slightly off kilter mood. The Austin-based band has exponentially moved forward in their craft, creating an album that is a multilayered and textured listen all the way through; an album whose tapestry is woven densely but never loses it’s way. It’s truly a “Landscape Dream” as the title implies.

LONESOME HEROES May 28 (Thursday)
The Lonesome Heroes are an amazing dream-western band from Austin, Tx. These guys have been making a big sound in the national folk scene lately, and we’re lucky to have them back in Shreveport. U.S. Tour veterans and current folk heroes Landry McMeans and Rich Russell formed The Lonesome Heroes in 2005. As they progressed in their songwriting, it became apparent that they weren’t confined to an alt.-country comfort zone. And with the release of their new album “Daydream Western,” it seemed as though the duo had written the perfect soundtrack to a faraway dream on a long stretch of highway. Don’t miss this one, it’s going to be fabulous.

All of these shows will be free, all ages, and indoors to beat the heat! Support live music and come out to a show. Bring a friend! Let’s prove that Shreveport can be a fun place to live any time of the year.
