We reported earlier on the 6th annual Red River Cleanup #StopTheDrop litter-eliminating project which is scheduled to happen this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon with lunch by Buffalo Wild Wings, Rotolo’s Pizza, and Jason’s Deli. Public interest was piqued, and so another opportunity for beautification of our community has sprouted up alongside it.
Highland Restoration Association and Shreveport Green are sponsoring a gathering of Highland neighbors that same morning to spruce up areas that need attention in the historic neighborhood.
“We will be picking up trash at and around Highland Park,” Pederson says. Perhaps more importantly, he adds, “We’re also planting 30 trees to help replenish Highland’s aging trees.”
Highland chef extraordinaire Andrew Parsons will serve up lunch from 11 a.m. until noon.
We hope that everyone works to make sure that both events are wonderfully attended so that all the necessary work can be done.
