‘Tis a year of new businesses downtown. Aura Ultra Lounge, Parish Taceaux, a pending opening of Rhino Coffee’s downtown location, coupled with the nearly-complete Lofts at 624 and the announcement of a new apartment project called The Standard, all signal a shift in the way entrepreneurs see the city core.
As new, market-rate apartments rising from the ashes of old buildings and Shreveport’s arts/culture and creative entrepreneur-based economy solidifies in downtown, the businesses and amenities that current and future residents of the city will want to use their disposable income on are arriving as well.
The latest business to announce an opening is Havana Live Cigar Lounge, seated in the spot once occupied by The Boot. I got a sneak peek and, let me tell you, it looks pretty amazing.
Owner Matt St. Amant confirmed that a soft opening happens this week followed by the grand opening on Saturday, October 8th at 211 Texas Street next door to Aura Ultra Lounge and across the street from Haze on Texas (which opened last year) and Norsworthy Art Gallery.
