It’s a Monday night, and I’m too lazy to cook. I’ve never tried Pop N Pizza, so I decide to give it a shot.

I call at 8:10 p.m. John answers, “Thanks for calling Pop N Pizza.”

I’m asked to be put on hold. Good sign, right? This means business.

“Can I get your phone number and name?” he asks me about 17 seconds later.

Injected Breadsticks

I give him my address, phone number, the usual stuff. John repeats it back to me, clarifying each detail.

I order the small Superman (Pepperoni, Ham, Italian Green Pepper, Onion, Mushrooms and Black Olives) and an order of “injected breadsticks,” because where else can one get that in town? Other menu options include the Spinach Salad Pizza, Hot Wings, Calzones, Chili Cheese Fries, and the recently added Tropic Pizza; complete with Ham, Bacon, Mushroom, Black Olives and Pineapple. Yum.

Plus, if your sweet tooth is as demanding as mine, they have Ice Cream Floats and Cinnamon Pretzels available.

My total didn’t meet the $15 minimum for delivery ($13.02), but being that I live literally around the corner, I told John I’d bypass the $0.01 delivery charge (special on Mondays) and be there in 20.

By 8:41 p.m., I had taken a bite of some pretty incredible pizza. My only thought was, I wish there were more pizza sauce on this. Thankfully the injected breadsticks (which were as good as they look), came with a side of pizza sauce that I happily dipped my pizza in – so, mild problem solved.

The experience was short and sweet and 100 percent satisfying. Ultimately, it felt good, because I was A) eating pizza and B) spending my money locally.

Check out their menu here, and find them on Facebook.
