Ellen Soffer is – quietly – one of Shreveport’s most accomplished painters.
An example of her status is her participation in a group exhibition at the Mary Tomás Gallery, Dallas, where her work is currently represented. “I will be showing a painting in ‘CORE II,’ curated by Ashley Tatum, founder of Tatum Art Advisory, LLC.” The exhibit is on view until February 13th at 1110 Dragon Street in Dallas, TX.
In Shreveport her work – see more at www.ellensoffer.com – is now a part of ‘Abstract Nature’, curated by Marlene Yu, this month at the Marlene Yu Museum in downtown Shreveport. The exhibit oped Friday, January 22 at 710 Travis Street.
Recently, Soffer’s work was chosen for Studio Visit magazine and she spoke at Middle Georgia State College on her most recent body of work entitled, The Shimmer Series.
Ellen Soffer obtained her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and BFA from her birthplace of Philadelphia at the Philadelphia College of Art. Soffer currently resides in Shreveport, LA, where she continues her practice at a local art studio.
