Those who enjoyed the Robinson Film Center’s Freak-Out! series can rekindle their affinity for cult classics – plus, they can test their knowledge of fun film facts.
Experience the catalyst of modern sci-fi movies, Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979), at RFC’s summer series “The Rewind.”
On Friday, June 27 at 8:30 pm, join Moviesauce and Heliopolis in Abby Singer’s Bistro for deviled eggs guarded by an overprotective mother, a face hugging drink special, and trivia to shake you out of the mental fog of stasis.
Trivia admittance is included in the movie ticket price, so bring your friends who spend enough time watching Netflix to answer some general knowledge movie questions. A group prize will be awarded for the team who knows the most, with Alien-themed prizes for Alien buffs.
Host Garrett Johnson is knee-deep in preparation for the trivia he’s presenting on behalf of Heliopolis, “I’m putting together a mad mix of movie trivia full of films you may know, yet it is bound to test even the biggest and baddest film buff.”
The digital screening of the movie is at 10 p.m. in the Willis-Knighton Theater. It promises to be a night of chest-bursting thrill, so please remember to power down your Android devices, as they cannot be trusted.
Can’t make it to this Friday’s event? There are two other opportunities to show off your movie knowledge in RFC’s Rewind series. Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975) and Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) will be shown on July 25 and August 22, respectively. The drink specials and giveaways will make appearances at every event.
This is the summer film experience you cannot miss, even if you caught these classics the first time around!
