Ruston has a reason to be excited early next month: free live music!
The local college radio station, KLPI 89.1, is hosting the third annual TechFest on May 9. It is sure to be a great time for anyone in north Louisiana with a Friday evening to spare. You don’t even have to be a student to attend!
This year’s festival will include food trucks and a silent disco. Several tents will be thrown up in Centennial Plaza on Tech’s campus to give shade during the all-day affair. Come hungry with a couple bucks, and grab some delicious food-truck food whilst enjoying some great local music.
Interested in the line-up? The headliners this year are Florida hip-hopper Ace Hood and The Hunts, a seven-piece folk band. Very different flavors. The rest of the day should feel similar. There will be rock bands, folk bands, instrumental jam-bands, and eclectic singer-songwriters. It is sure to be a good time with lots of variety.
If you live in Minden, come on! If you are in Shreveport, get over there! Support local music. Tunes starts at noon. Don’t be late!
