A legend in the classroom, Lee Baxter Davis taught fine art graphics at East Texas State University (now Texas A & M Commerce) for over 30 years. His talents and teachings inspired generations of A-list artists who changed the look of narrative art through their comics, animation, puppetry, ceramics, painting, illustrations, and prints.
This group show begins with Davis’s original ‘Lizard Cult” students and runs through their own artistic progeny. It features work by Steven Barker, Mark Burt, JooYoung Choi, Thomas Clark, Georganne Deen, Steve Fuqua, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Ric Heitzman, Lawrence Lee, Greg Metz, Jeffrey Miranda, Robyn O’Neil, Gary Panter, Leslie Pippen, Christian Schumann, Katherine Taylor, and Joachim West.
