“Sabra,” a work composed for the Marlene Yu Museum, 710 Travis St, will fill the museum with exuberance, and warmth, says dancer-choreographer Bailey Harper. Currently based in Denver, Colorado, Harper grew up in Shreveport, and wanted to return to the place of her roots to produce a work. Harper, in collaboration with Kimberly Chmielewski, say the performance will reflect a mixture of their roots in ballet and modern.
The production takes place on Sat, May 28, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.. The 45-minute performance will be followed by a reception with the dancers. It is a free event – with a suggested $10 donation to benefit the Marlene Yu Museum and the dancers. Expect a cash wine bar and complimentary refreshments.
“Together, let us explore the beauty of our relationships with one another and to this earth. Let’s dance about love, our family, and our lives. Let’s share this incredible space together,” says Harper of the performance.
